Africa Tech Summit, a leading African tech gathering, has recently unveiled the 10 African tech ventures set to showcase their cutting-edge solutions on February 14-15, 2024. With a diverse audience of industry experts, investors, and innovators, this sixth edition event offers invaluable insights and networking opportunities within the African tech ecosystem. The selected startups, operating in sectors like fintech, agri-tech, e-commerce, Web3, and climate-tech, aim to secure funding ranging from US$500,000 to US$15 million. Here are the 10 startups listed for the Africa Tech Summit;

1. Node Bio

Node Bio is a startup hailing from Kenya, with a noble and ambitious mission of providing for the world’s growing population amidst the challenges posed by climate change. The company dedicates itself to creating biological solutions aimed at addressing farmers’ most significant and complex issues, particularly those exacerbated by climate change. Their first product draws inspiration from plants’ natural stress response mechanisms, resulting in a crop treatment that optimizes plant endurance in drought and extreme heat conditions. 2. TausiApp

TausiApp is an on-demand beauty tech platform based in Nairobi, Kenya, founded in 2021. It leverages AI to connect clients with skilled beauticians, offering personalized beauty services through a marketplace where freelance beauticians can showcase their expertise. The platform also empowers beauticians to be self-employed by verifying and rating them for quality control, while enabling clients to easily book beauty services. TausiApp’s online platform is the primary way that customers book appointments and access services, creating a transparent and fair marketplace for both clients and beauticians.

3. Peercarbon

Peercarbon is a climate tech startup based in Kenya, in 2022 to provide sustainability solutions and carbon accounting software to empower small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in managing their emissions and embracing environmental stewardship. Additionally, the company offers a Climate Fintech platform that leverages granular emissions data and sustainable finance technology to help businesses succeed while being environmentally responsible.

4. URBANET

URBANET is a platform that addresses various urban issues such as urban conservation, resilience, and community-led projects. It focuses on designing urban resilience to confront risks and emphasizes the need for reimagining the planning, layout, and construction of cities to address systemic risks. URBANET also highlights the urban relevance of community-making and the importance of community-led projects in increasing the resilience of neighborhoods and cities.

5. Bingtellar

Bingtellar, based in Nigeria, is a web3 payment infrastructure provider that aims to help onboard billions of Africans to the world of cryptocurrencies and gift cards. It allows users to buy and sell crypto, use crypto for everyday consumption, pay bills, and shop. Bingtellar addresses two key challenges that users and businesses face when looking to access the world of cryptocurrencies: the ability to move between fiat and crypto and the complexity of the process.

6. Dukka

Dukka is a startup company that provides digital payments and bookkeeping solutions to assist African small businesses. Their software offers cash flow management, inventory tracking, and invoicing. The company was founded in 2021 and has raised over $1.8 million in funding from institutional investors such as Flexcap Ventures Management, Funema, and Roselake Ventures. 7. Feegor

Feegor is a Nigerian-based fintech startup that offers a platform for users to effectively manage their personal finances. Leveraging a user-friendly interface and secure technology, it empowers individuals to track their income, expenses, and investments, fostering financial literacy and smart money management habits. Feegor also offers financial advice and access to various financial services, making it a one-stop solution for personal finance management.

8. Regxta

Regxta is an emerging startup based in Nigeria, founded with the vision of digitizing the alternative investment landscape in Africa. The platform also allows investors to discover, analyze, and invest in a wide range of alternative assets, including real estate, agriculture, and private companies. Empowering African investors with transparent information and user-friendly tools, Regxta is committed to democratizing access to asset classes that were previously only accessible to institutional investors.

9. Valu

Valu is a leading fintech startup based in Egypt that aims to provide comprehensive financial solutions and enhance financial inclusion. This innovative platform offers various services, including instalment sales services, personal loans, and micro-finance products. By leveraging advanced technological capabilities, Valu is also revolutionizing the financial landscape in Egypt, making financial services accessible and affordable for all.
